A/Professor Reid  performs  advanced level, minimally invasive surgery (or "key-hole" surgery)  for major operations, including hysterectomy, removal of fibroids, excision of complex pelvic disease and severe endometriosis. She has specialised training in the diagnosis and surgical excision of endometriosis. 

As part of your endometriosis assessment, A/Prof Reid will perform a specialised deep endometriosis ultrasound scan  (called gel sonovaginography), which allows for diagnosis of deep endometriosis implants, pelvic adhesions  and complex pelvic disease. 

 A deep infiltrating endometriosis ultrasound is recommended for all women with suspected endometriosis, as it allows for the prediction of advanced endometriosis and appropriate surgical planning.

A pelvic ultrasound scan is performed for the assessment of pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, and gynaecological conditions such as ovarian cysts, fibroids, endometrial pathology and pelvic masses. 

We also offer advanced pelvic scans (HyCoSy, saline infusion scans) for the investigation of infertility ,uterine abnormalities and for localisation of IUDs. Signs of endometriosis on ultrasound can be detected with an advanced deep infiltrating endometriosis ultrasound scan, also offered at our centre.
